The People & Places of Mexico

This is Mexico like you’ve never experienced before, from the Yucatan to the Baja Peninsula and Sea of Cortez. Experiencde friendly culture, natural wonders like limestone cenotes, and once-in-a-lifetime kayaking and whale-watching opportunities.

Special Offer: $200 off all 2017 Baja departures before September 22!

Yucatecan Cuisine

Indigenous Yucatecan cuisine is quite unlike standard Mexican faire. Delight in cochinita pibil, pork rubbed in achiote paste and cooked in aromatic banana leaves. Or zotobichay, a spicy spin on the tamale with local habaneros and pumpkin seeds.

Cenote Yaxunah

A swim in a clear and cool cenote (limestone sinkhole) is a spiritual Mayan experience. The cenote in the indigenous village of Yaxunah also invites an opportunity to see the Mot-Mot bird, resplendent with flashes of bright turquoise on its body.

Monarch Butterfly Migration

Each autumn billions of North American monarch butterfly migrate 3,000 miles to the rural Yucatan. Tree branches turn orange and droop with the weight of them. There's nothing quite like a walk through monarch forests as the butterflies make sounds like a rain shower overhead.
