Things to Do in...

By Land and By Sea, Part 2

By Irene Edwards, GreenSpot Founder

Continued from Part 1.

What do you picture when you heard the word “cruise”? If you’re anything like me, you’re automatically thinking huge floating hotels, casinos, fancy dinners, and quick stops in several ports of call for shopping and canned activities that have little to do with the local sense of place.

On the other hand, there’s something romantic about sailing the ocean waters, and seeing places from a whole new perspective. And you’ve asked us for “Land and Sea” options over the years, but it wasn’t until recently that we discovered a perfect partner in offering small-ship cruise experiences. In doing so, we learned that all cruises are not created equal.

So, what makes these cruises so different?

  • They are nothing like traditional cruises. Small ships go where the big ships can’t go, and have a casual on-board atmosphere, without sacrificing comfort and delicious cuisine.
  • Travel you can feel good about. A commitment to authentic experiences, good environmental practices, and support for local communities.
  • Adventure activities, wildlife interactions, and cultural experiences. Your days and nights will be filled with inspiration and activity, connecting you with nature, culture, and local people while avoiding the typical tourist masses.

110-stand-up-paddle-boarding-smWe’re now offering small-ship Land and Sea Itineraries in three new destinations, in addition to our existing trips to the Galapagos/Ecuador.  And of course, we can personalize your experience with customized extensions designed to your liking.
